Hello all!
After ~3 months of studying, I just took my first GMAT attempt and scored a 595 (67th percentile). My first mock was a 535 with Quant in the 12th percentile, so moving up to the 50–60% range already feels like good progress. That said, I’m aiming for a 655–675, so I still have work to do!
I’ve generally been strong in Verbal and DI (consistently around the 85-95th percentile on mocks), but on test day my DI dropped to the 62nd percentile — probably just an off day. Interestingly, I only missed 4 Quant questions (Q1, Q3, Q8, and Q15) yet still landed in Q79, which makes me think I was served an easier section. Beyond the first few questions, I answered most correctly and even finished with plenty of time left.
Looking ahead, I plan to retake in early November and want to sharpen my Quant. I’ve already completed
TTP and have been trying the Streaks Method (15 easy, 15 medium, 10 hard), but I keep plateauing in the 605–655 range on GMAT Club.
Does anyone have suggestions for breaking through this range — whether strategies, specific tutors, or resources (I’ve heard mentions of Ian Stewart’s books)?
Thanks in advance!
