Very strange case and clearly an error, if the situation unfolded as described here. Did you try writing a formal letter to GMAC and Pearson and explaining the situation? They are obligated to assist you as you have been charged wrongly for a service that cannot be tendered.

At a later point, you could also contact your bank and card provider and have the charge disputed. But before doing this, let GMAC and Pearson know that you will be filing a formal charge dispute. You can also contact the consumer bureaus and government organizations in your country.

I hope you’re not trying to take the test soon. The fact that you have an appointment will probably automatically make you in eligible to take it within 16 days of the other appointment. Also, you cannot schedule another appointment if you have one already for the online test....

The same thing happened with me few hours ago. Pls post an update if your issue has been resolved.
I have written to examity support and will contact gmat customer service on monday. I am so disappointed rn, this isn't something one might expect from gmac and their partners.
