hey guys wanted some help over a dilemma. So basically i wrote my gmat a couple of months ago where I chose 3 schools to send it to and cancelled the score later because it wasnt optimal. And now I applied to b-school-1 which asked me deliberately if I wrote an exam earlier and I denied writing any, hence they accepted my application without a score for now citing the delay due to the pandemic . They asked me to write and report a score within a month. B-school-2 I was planning on applying to insisted on submitting a gmat because their deadline is in another week and Gmat online is now open. I don't have any time to prepare for the Gmat in a week thus i was planning on reinstating score for the old one. But I know this will show up in the report to B-school-1 also .I was concerned about the repurcussions and what it will seem like to B-school-1?
Hey lickith,
As I see it, you have two options:
1. Do whatever it takes to prepare for and take the GMAT quickly.
2. Reinstate your GMAT for School 2 and take your chances with School 1. You weren't truthful with School 1 so it wouldn't shock me if you were dinged because of it. That being said, there is always a chance you comment slips past admissions, especially if there are different admins/officers handling outreach. If the lie becomes known, it would not be seen well...but always the chance it gets through.
Hope this helps, sometimes there isn't a magic wand to erase past mistakes but what's done is done and you have to push forward given the circumstances!

Scott
