Gmat study plan

Question

I went through gmat exam yesterday and scored dismal 640 (Q49, V27). However, in the mock tests I took prior to the D - Day, I was constantly getting scores between 690 and 740.
Now I plan to retake exam in a month. My target is to score over 720. Can anyone suggest me what study material should i refer?

Clearly, you need to focus completely on Verbal, in order to increase your score from V27 to V36+. First, you need to order the Enhanced Score Report to understand your mistakes from your first attempt. With only 1 forum post, you will not be able to attach a file; you need to have a minimum of 5 posts to be eligible to post files. I think you should try programs like egmat verbal and/or Manhattan verbal. I have used them and I think they are quite handful. You can also try other programs on free and access which will work for you before you enrol for anyone. All the best.

Hello,

You seem strong in quant. That's great. Now , if you are a non native English speaker, checkout egmat for SC and CR.
Then supplement those with Manhatten, study og,Review again.

Then checkout GIN strategy for RC and align it with Veritas Stop strategy. You can check them out here in gmatclub.
Practice . Practice and lot of practice.

Try to find errors if someone is speaking or in your work emails. Find assumptions in normal contexts.
This will get you going. Very important but hardly followed tip.

Also don't take quant for granted. Try practicing more hard questions that are available in gmatclub.

I'm sorry to hear that Test Day didn't go as well as planned. When these types of score drops occur, the two likely "causes" involve either something that was unrealistic during practice or something that was surprising (or not accounted for) on Test Day. Before we discuss any of those potential issues though, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
5) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report. While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher). If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
