Due to certain persistent limitations in the technology, many early buyers of virtual reality systems apparently lost interest in buying new virtual reality games to run on their systems. The sale of virtual reality games is still going strong because the number of homes with virtual reality systems is still growing. However, businesses distributing virtual reality games will face hard times because the market for virtual reality systems is likely to saturate soon.

Which of the following, if true, would most seriously weaken the conclusion above?

A. The market for virtual reality systems is considered saturated only after seventy percent of all homes have at least one such system.
B. Early buyers of novel products are always quicker to acquire novelties, but also quicker to tire of them than other buyers.
C. Customer satisfaction surveys reveal that few of the early buyers of virtual reality systems had any complaints regarding this new product’s performance aspects.
D. Several games specifically designed to be played in virtual reality form a sizeable proportion of all the products handled by retailers of virtual reality games.
E. Shrinking markets generally intensify competition among businesses, leading to the failure of several marginal businesses.

At the time of the last census, the number of military veterans was slightly greater than the number of conservatives. Military veterans have tripled in number since then, while conservatives have increased in number, but at a lower rate than have military veterans.

A. There are now fewer military veterans than there are conservatives.
B. The ratio between military veterans and conservatives has increased since the last census.
C. The ratio between military veterans and conservatives has decreased since the last census.
D. Every conservative is also a military veteran.
E. The ratio between military veterans and conservatives has not changed since the last census.

Consuming my life

is the difference between a v87 and a v90 just luck?

another way to phrase it is, is v90 achieved by someone constantly getting v90s?
Hi goonjoon,

A test taker who gets multiple V90s is definitely more likely to score a V90 on the actual exam. Luck would play less of a role in that case, but luck is always a factor, both for regular test takers and for instructors.

It goes without saying that the overall score is always more important than a perfect quant, verbal, or DI score.

Hi all, any suggestions on dealing with first questions in Quant and DI which is 805+ level question? Is it common in actual test too?
Hi pdave,

No, this is extremely unlikely on the actual exam. Also, if you don't want a super tough first question in a section, you could try starting your test with that section (you'll start off at ~medium), but it's best not to worry too much about this.

Are GMAT Club mock tests good estimate for an actual exam? I feel these mocks are quite hard, is that the same level of an actual exam?

Hello Theeldertwin,

Here is an approach to help you push through:

1. Consolidate your concepts
Since you are struggling with DI, consider investing in a solid prep course that will help you understand concepts from scratch.

2. Re-attempt all previously incorrect questions
Review your mistakes from earlier practice. Understand why you got them wrong and how to avoid those errors going forward.

3. Practice with a new set of high-difficulty questions
Use either official sources or reliable third-party material to build deeper familiarity with challenging questions.

4. Practice consistently over the next few weeks
Every couple of weeks, go back and re-attempt your earlier incorrect questions. Continue revisiting weak areas in your conceptual understanding along the way.

By diligently following these four steps over a few focused weeks, you will likely find yourself performing at a significantly higher level on DI.

All the best!

Hello all, I gave my first GMAT attempt in December and scored a 655 (Q84, V84, D79). I plan on giving it again as I am targetting 685+. Can someone please help me on how to improve my DI score? I have been struggling with time management in DI and can never solve the entire paper

Not really. That is the case more so with quant in my opinion. Verbal scoring isn’t that harsh so a V87 probably translates to 4-5 mistakes while a V90 would be 0-1 mistakes so that’s quite a bit of difference. I had a V90 on 3 of the mocks I took and scored a V90 on the exam as well

Thoughts on gmat at home v test centre.
At home has many benefits - comfort, laptop as opposed to monitor on which I’m more used to, timing convenience etc
But downside seems to be its more restrictive because of online proctor?
Anyone having experience and can share the same?
