For Quant, in addition to solidifying your fundamentals and figuring out how to do harder questions, try to see whether you can find shorter/easier ways to solve questions you find easy and already get correct. Any time you save can potentially be useful later on. You could check out the gmatclub threads of questions to see the solutions people have shared.

Consider working on Verbal as well. Any additional points you get there could help reduce what you need on the other two sections to "score above a 645".

Hi guys! This is my first post here on the forum. To give some background, I somehow graduated undergrad this past year with a 4.0, and I will be working in consulting at Deloitte this coming fall. I am shooting for M7 schools.

I took a cold GMAT practice test exactly 1 month ago and got a 565 (78Q, 82V, 74DI). Since then, I have been studying diligently using OG prep material as well as TTP for quant.
Yesterday, I heard from a friend that the GRE could be a possible alternative if the GMAT proved to be too difficult. Now, I am not one to quit, but after taking a GRE practice test and receiving a 315(160Q, 155V), I am not questioning it. My current plan is to continue with GMAT preparation for a month and then take another practice test. If I do not score above a 645, I will switch. I assume my GMAT studying logic will transfer better to the GRE rather than vice versa, considering the GMAT does seem considerably more difficult. What are everyone's thoughts?

Additionally, I seem to be scoring relatively high on verbal sections for both the GMAT and GRE even though I have done very little prep; however, I am certainly not confident while taking the test. Sometimes I often pick answers on a whim, or pick ones that naturally seem correct (they give me a good feeling), and somehow end up getting them correct without understanding why. Any thoughts on this as well?

Thanks, everyone!

I think your plan is solid. Giving the GMAT one more focused month is a smart move. It gives you a clear checkpoint without dragging things out unnecessarily, and it keeps your momentum going. Plus, everything you’re learning right now, especially with OG and TTP, will still be useful if you end up switching to the GRE. In fact, we've seen GMAT students switch to the GRE, when necessary, and have a lot of success. Feel free to keep me updated and reach out with any questions.
