Got WL...I guess it's better than "no"...and now I must hope that someone gets into a better school so that they let me off the WL! Any advice on what I should do to get off the WL or better my chances? BTW I applied through the Consortium...so I'm hoping I eventually get in!

My OPUS account says I'm waitlisted and then I get an email saying I'm accepted. A quick check with the adcom confirmed that I have indeed been accepted into the 2 year program, with $$.

But oh man, I wish I hadn't logged onto OPUS before I saw that acceptance mail :cry: . Horrible way to get your first acceptance.

Looks like only 1 indian in this forum received an invite so far. Given the decisions come out on Mar 15, the chances are looking bleak now

The best we can hope for is a WL. I am sure there wouldn't be any interview before decision date now. Damn!

Guys did you get any update on the status??
I am too from India, looks like many of us didn't get call, does that mean we can hope for an interview invite even after the DD??

If you haven't received an invite, it is in all likelihood a ding or a WL. A bunch of folks (including me) received a ding mail from the Adcom yesterday. Hang in tight and you should have any update by tomorrow.

Well at least you got into Marshall...I didn't even get invited to an interview to Marshall (and I'm FROM Los Angeles AND i had connects at USC)...go figure right? I'm not IN anywhere yet so I just wanna BE in. Gonna hear from a few more tomorrow, and then Duke on Monday. I'm still applying to a few more schools in the 3rd round and waiting to hear from Vandy, UNC and NYU (applied to all 3 in the 3rd round).

I also filled out the form and asked for feedback...I'm going to try and make a trip out to Atlanta and try to push my way into Emory. I'll do whatever it takes!!!

Good luck to your trip! I wish I could travel to Atlanta but I'm in China and drowned with work stuff... I guess the only way I can do is waiting for a feedback, and updating whatever I can provide. Really wanna push for Emory. The seats reserved for R3 international applicants are limited but worth a try.
USC is very nice but I'm having a big headache with their loan policy for international students....

I'd say that the waitlist mail just about killed any joy I felt (and ruined my plans to do an acceptance dance :) )
I couldn't even manage a smile for the scholarship mail. I'll take the weekend to let it sink in.

To everyone bummed about their WL decision - I certainly understand it is not what you want to hear, but I would encourage you to not give up on the process if GBS is truly your dream (as some of you have stated). The easiest way to demonstrate that you deserve be taken from the WL is to express your strong interest in GBS and to acutely define what you can add to our community. The WL is not a brick wall, but a challenge to demonstrate your value. I am happy to offer suggestions, just PM if you are interested.
