Goizueta (Emory) - Calling All 2013 MBA Applicants

I interviewed on April 5 and received a decision phone call today.

Losing my hope! Probably got dinged.

I wouldn't lose hope yet. The reason I heard back so soon was because the 1yr program starts May 20th. So they had to notify me ASAP. For people going for the 2yr I imagine it will take longer for them to be notified.

Any news from r4 applicants?

Is there anyone waiting for the decision??

I am a waitlisted candidate, but I am hoping to receive a decision tomorrow. I've been waitlisted since round 2.

No news yet? I cannot login to OPUS. Perhaps they are updating decisions.

Yes, I wasn't able to login to OPUS as well. Hopefully there updating their decisions, and we'll find out later today. Good luck to everyone.

Either people are not getting decisions rendered yet or there is very little interest about these decisions on the club.

I believe it is the curse of last round. Now I need to wait more. Hope to hear after deposit due date.

Does any waitlisted applicant have any idea about what is waiting for us? Will the adcom provide us with any feedback?

When will we start to hear something new from the adcom?

I think we will start to see some wait list decisions shortly after Emory's deposit deadline on May 8th. After that date the admissions committee should have a good idea of how their class will look, and should be able to make wait list decisions accordingly.

Hey guys,

looking for some input on my GMAT score and profile. Emory is my top target.

I just took the GMAT for the first time and got a 660 (Q42, V38). I did not have the best day I could have, but I had a realistic max goal of 670 given my preparation and CATs. Quant was weaker than I know I can get, but not by nuch. Profile:

Financial Analyst / Insurance Industry / Hispanic / non-native speaker / 4yr WE

I am a bit unsure about what to think of my 660. I know a lot of 700's apply to Emory, so I'd love any input.
- Would you recommend to take it again?
- Is it a futile effort with a 660?
- Would strong essays make up for the fact I dont have a 700?

Not at all. The most recent intake had an 80% range of 606-740 with an average of 677. About 30-40% of your classmates would have had your score or lower.



Possibly. As could the other areas of your app. A below school average GMAT score should be accompanied by as strong as possible transcripts, essays, extras, recommendations and interview.



If you feel you could do significantly better then certainly. The good news for you is that you have plenty of time to study and retake without sacrificing time on your essays so you're in a good spot here man.
