Got the call this morning from my interviewer. She mentioned that emails will be going out today (soon) and also informed me of the scholarship I've been awarded. She noted that this information is not on OPUS.

I got a voicemail from them this morning. They didn't mention anything about a scholarship on the phone. Is there anywhere else that this would be posted?

I'm not sure if scholarship info will be posted later on, but during my call she noted that its not on OPUS at the moment. I scoured OPUS yesterday and could not find a section regarding scholarships, although the most logical place would probably be the financial aid section.

Congrats to everyone on the admits, and for those who did not get the decision they were hoping for - keep your heads up!

I had my interview during the open interview period in early October, but I recall these questions -

Walk through your resume. (Mini questions in between this walk through, be prepared to talk about every point on your resume and the reasons behind each decision)
Why MBA? (I worked in my short and long term goals here.)
Why Now?
Why Emory?
Tell me about a team experience.
Tell me about a recent article you read that interested you and why.
Anything else you like to share? (I mentioned a few extra curriculars here)
Questions for the interviewer?

Very friendly tone, in fact my interviewer started things off by telling me about herself and that these interviews are purposefully informal to get to know the applicant.

Hi all,

I completed the payment for application fee 45 minutes ago. However, as of now no confirmation email about my payment.
I also submitted my application ( about 30 minutes ago).

So far nothing has come in my inbox. I am so worried. Can my application be reviewed in R2 ?

What should i do now ???

Live Essay Writing Workshop, presented by Admissionado


Sigh. The MBA Application essays. Who thought it was a good idea to ask people to write 2000 words before they even get INTO school? Turns out, it doesn’t matter, because someone did… and now you have to come up with the most compelling and memorable essays about leadership that you can. And then do it again for every school you apply to.

It’s not easy, but this upcoming event should help. Submit your MBA Application essay to have an opportunity to have it reviewed for free by the team at Admissionado. Three essays will be selected, and if you are one of the lucky ones, you will have the opportunity to go through your essay with Phillip Herring (admissions expert and CBS MBA) in a live session. You will need to be OK with sharing your essay with attendees (don’t worry – we’ll keep your name/private info out of it), and available and online at the time of the event to chat it up with Phillip. Even if you aren’t selected, listen in, because there will still be plenty of essay advice to go around.

In the workex section, I have put the number of months experience I have right now, and not at the time of joining

Is that alright ?

If not, can I do something ?

Also, one of my recommenders submitted the recommendation a few hours late, Is that ok ?

I don't think I got any email confirmation last year either. As long as you submitted on time , you should be good.
And the admissions committee was pretty busy over the last few days organizing Super Saturday. [And one of em was in India], so I wouldn't expect a very quick response. And they'll probably have overflowing inboxes on Monday, so please be patient with them.

Also. CMG, I can't authoritatively say how the late recommendation will affect you. And when the school hasn't specified a guideline (be sure to read the FAQs though), some people list the work ex at the time of matriculation and some at the time of filling the application. In these cases, it makes more sense to fill the larger value. Though again, I wouldn't know how to resubmit that part of your application (maybe you could email them, but don't expect a prompt response), but keep this in mind for your future applications.

I got my invite about a week and half after the deadline for round 1. But have also heard other applicants get it a few days after as well.

Hi everyone !!

Any waitlist applicant from R1 ?

Currents students or co-applicants --- Would love to get some tips on waitlist strategies and what can be done to improve chances of getting an invite.

Do waitlisted applicants have the next status change only by the next application decision deadline or one might get an invite before that ?
