michaeliu -- if you're already scoring around Q50 -- don't sweat the details. Is your mission to ace quant (for your own personal goals) or is your mission to get into business school?
This is an important question -- you need to know what's important for you -- what's your ultimate goal. For most people, getting admission into their dream business school will not depend on whether your quant score is 50 or 51. But it will depend on whether your verbal reaches a minimum threshold relative to that Q50 or Q51 score.
The data supports this -- Q50 to Q51 does not change your overall score out of 800 as much as a jump from V31 to V32. Take a look at the chart and you'll see what I mean: https://www.gmatpill.com/the-gmat-pill- ... -strategy/
Hope that helps clarify where your goals should be. Questions on probability and advanced concepts will appear once, maybe twice on the GMAT. You should allocate your time so it helps you reach your ultimate goal -- whatever it is you define that to be.
