I'm debating the PS3 vs. 360 purchase.

I think I prefer the 360 because of the greater selection of games (at the moment), but I'm leaning PS3 because of reliability. For some reason I suffer an excess amount of grief when something I purchase breaks. :lol:

I would say that the only reason to get the PS3 is the blu-ray. On all other fronts, go with XBOX360.

Actually, I prefer the PS3 controller to the Xbox, but you can't have it all.

But isn't the RROD still pretty common? Do you know if it's equally prevalent in the different versions of the machine that they sell?

I really don't care about the Blu-Ray; it's just the reliability.

I also got my xbox for free at a MSFT recruiting event, so that helped...

Wait.. WHAT?!?!?! How do you get a free x-box?

I haven't checked out the online gameplay yet. The GTA world is so real I've barely even done any missions. Just walking around so far. And, I was watching the tv for a while yesterday. It's pretty funny specially the LCPD ad.

They gave an xbox 360 elite to everyone who came. Just kidding. They had two they were giving away and my name got picked out of a hat. Whats particularly funny about it is that I showed up late to the event and right before they pulled names they said does anyone else have an entry to put in, and I ran up front and threw in my name. You could hear the grunts and boohing when my name got pulled - obviously it was on top...

So the trick to getting free stuff at recruiting events is to show up late. I'll keep that in mind when recruiting. Thanks for the sound advice!

Well the current 40GB version is $400. The new 80GB system that I mentioned will be $500 (with a $60 game). I imagine the 40GB price will drop to $350 when the new 80GB one comes out...just a guess.

I thought you had to pay for Xbox Live, has it since changed?

As you can tell I have a PS3

However when I start Chicago this summer I think my PS3 will just collect dust.

My husband was so excited to get his copy. He's spent the past few nights up until 1:00AM or 2:00AM. I've seen the game and I have to say that the graphics is incredible. But I am considering to hide the game from him this weekend so that we can actually go on a date.

After several unsuccessful attempts at different shops, I finally got it yesterday night at 10pm. The last copy remaining was pre-booked, but the person who booked did not show up. Even though it had arrived only 2 days before, the girl at the counter decided to sell it to me. Being a bit flirty with her probably helped too. :D

I played until late in the night and had no motivation to come to work this morning. Good it's Friday and I finish early!

I had so much fun last night too - joined a group free play, and took turns trying to jump over the river while everyone else stood on the other side and tried to blow you up with rocket launchers. Tons of fun to see 10 rockets flying at you, none hit and then you land on top of someone.

you have no idea. I've had so many actual laugh out loud moments... We were playing cops and crooks and four of us were running away in a station wagon while the radio was set to 'classic' and someone busts out "what the !@#, this isn't getaway music!". I suppose its one of those things where you had to be there, but it was pretty darn funny. We had another game where someone killed the last crook by driving his boat off a ramp and crashing into him.
Of course, its also a ton of fun to party play, grab the heli, head to the top of the empire state building and then jump off just for the hell of it.
