I have a quick question regarding the change of status timelines from H1 to F1. I am looking at the latest processing dates update on USCIS website. As of Aug 15th, the I-539 are processed with Filing date of April 01.
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Proces ... Center=CSC

I have filed and received my receipt dated June 02 and my classes start on Sep 25th. My question is are any options to expedite this request.

My Original I-20 and I-94 are with USCIS, submitted as a part of the filing process.

I am not sure how the schools (my one in particular) might handle this one. I will be checking with the International Students Office right away.

Are any of you in this same boat and if so, how did your school support you? Are the schools comfortable with a change of request receipt? or do they need a confirmed approval?

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Regarding the F1-H1B conversion, does anyone have an idea how that works. Do we have to wait till Oct to start it or can we restart it immediately after school say in May?

Hi All,
I have a question on F1 - H1 case.

I have a H1 approval from USCIS and an I-20 from Mays Business school.

Now if I go for F1 visa interview first, can I go for H1 interview later?

What would be the chances of H1 stamping and what questions might come up?

Also, would my F1 be cancelled even before my H1 is approved? I mean what would be my situation in case my H1 stamping is not done?
