I just had my interview,...my interviewer said he really liked what I had to say and he'll definitely recommend me!! So i guess it went well!

I was initially waitlisted w/o interview,.....i wonder how big of an impact a good interview will have. I also submitted a supplemental "why haas" essay earlier this week.

Need some advice from everyone.

I was just put on the waitlist w/out interview,..in addition to scheduling an interview and hopefully submitting a third recommendation,..I'm also planning on submitting another essay. I'm having a very hard time deciding what the focus of the essay should be.

On the one hand,..I have an interesting personal background coming from a wartorn country, and i can discuss how my upbringing shaped my decisions in life and helped me overcome challenges. I think this would be a compelling story that could certainly make me stand out from fellow waitlisters.

On the other hand,..because I'm a Consortium applicant, I never had the opportunity to write an essay (or part of an essay) on the "Why Haas". So discussing how Haas in particular fits with my career goals seems to make sense as well.

A third option of course is some kind of hybrid,..the risk is it may not be as focused an essay.

I don't know exactly what the Adcoms felt was missing from my App,...it could be lack of personalization w/ my career goals and Haas, or it could be they just don't know enough about me as a person.

What do you guys think?

Same here, my application status changed 5 weeks ago..haven´t heard a thing.. and agree waiting sucks, starting to think about plan B

Hi guys, does anyone know when the interview invites for R3 usually go out or the bulk of them ?

From what I have picked up here I noticed that some R2 invites came relatively late this year, nevertheless it is less than a month until deadline and one would expect that international students are given some time to travel and make arrangements. After that the interviewer needs time to process the interview to a file and then the adcom has to weigh it´s options.

I am at least not getting more comfortable day by day now..

Does anyone have thoughts on this ?

Folks,

According to BeatTheGmat:

R1: 31 invites/162 candidates = 19%
R2: 40 invites/178 candidates = 22%
R3: 7 invites so far/82 candidates = 9%

So there should be at least 50% more invites to go (realizing we are working with small data sets here)...

Had my interview today with an alum based in Delhi. I have to admit that the alum was by far the most impressive in the 5 interviews I have given till date!

Think it went okay...have to wait and watch now I guess!

Looking at it from a purely logistical standpoint, there's still nearly a month until the notification deadline. That's plenty of time to invite someone, have them interview, and offer a decision. However, the clock is certainly ticking. I would be surprised if any invites went out in say, April.
