Had to stop work after submitting application

Question

I submitted applications for some schools in R2. I am an Irish citizen and have been working in Canada for 2 years on a work permit. My current work permit has just expired and I am still waiting on acceptance from the Canadian government on approval for Permanent Residency. As a result, I have had to stop work and wait for my status to be renewed so that I can continue work. Should I explain this to the schools before the interviews? There is a chance that my permanent residency won't be renewed for a few months.

I genuinely don't see this being an issue, as it is not within your control and says nothing about your capability. I have read similar things, particularly with Indian applicants working in the US, and it never seems to be a major issue.

Yeah I suppose you are right. Nothing can be done and it is out of my control. I can't exactly go and work back in Ireland for 5 months either. The media has reported that the Syrian refugee crisis is causing a backlog for the immigration dept too. And to add further salt to the wound, if I leave Canada, I forfeit my application.

If when you submitted your application the information was accurate then I would not worry about this, it really does not or should not factor into your evaluation
