Stress more on Number properties , Geometry , coordinate geometry . If you are at 700 plus on the test, you might see a couple of probability and combination questions too.

I just took the GRE last weekend (getting a 750-800 range quant) and I am under the opinion that the GRE is NOT a CAT as you can go back and change previous answers. There was nothing on the exam that was any more difficult than things you'd see on the SAT. There were some geometry problems (area, circumferenc, volume, etc), some simeple algebra stuff, and what I would call general logic questions. As I didn't study, I didn't really know what to expect, but the which is larger, A or B, questions were actually really fun

I feel a perfect quant score or near perfect (750-800) is very acheivable if math is your thing. I think I read somewhere that an 800 GRE math is only 93%ile? I definitely think it is very achievable if you consider math one of your strengths. If you are someone who has had to study math rigorously throughout life to get "simpler topics" I would not bank on a perfect quant regardless of time spent studying.

As for your verbal question, I am not familiar with the Barron vocab list, but I would definitely suggest studying roots of words to gain a greater understanding of what a word may mean even if you don't know it. I would assume your vocab list will only be generically helpful as it's very hit or miss as to whether you'll get words you know.

I wouldn't use a GMAT book to study for the GRE quant, but it would definitely be better than nothing. Just make you're brushed up on basic algebra skills (solving equations, systems of equations, factoring, etc), geometry (2D and a little 3D), and otehr basic math and reasoning skills (probability, inequalities, etc). That's about all I can really help suggest. Mostly just familiarize yourself with the test format so you aren't caught off guard.

i'm gonna apply to master in science in finance bocconi , and MBF HSG
they ask for +760 on quants, and they don't care about the verbal 
on the other hand, i'm abashed to get very low score on the verbal ..... i'm an international student and i'm pretty sure i will get a low score on it if i wouldn't hardly prepare 
do you have suggestions ?

In hindsight, I'm not 100% sure why I took the GRE other than it is a useful score to have for MBA applications, but I am also considering going for a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering as I want to stay in the manufacturing sector and I feel it would be useful to my advancement as an engineer to then later on in my career transition into a mangerial role through an MBA or something. It'll be nice to get my scores though. It's been about a week. Anyone know how long it takes to get them?

i think it needs about 15 days to get the official one, but because you take it befote 30 sep. i think there will be an exception ... please check ETS site .... i saw a detailed table regarding marks

I'm not sure if your answer is entirely accurate. This definitely applies for the GMAT, but maybe not so much for the GRE. The GRE is a "section adaptive" test, meaning that the level of difficulty does not change based on each question, but rather based on your performance in an entire section, and will "adapt" in the next section.
I got a couple of probability questions in both my quant sections, but only one was difficult.

Wow, how does it take so long to get the scores back? The official GMAT scores were mailed maybe two weeks after the exam.

I think it's because they are switching to the new grading format. They got the unofficial scores with the old format immediately, but the official scores with the new grading format will come out in November.
