Hey
VijayG6387 and
manojsundar1 , dudes I got into Haskayne!!!!
I had two interviews last night. the 9th of Feb and GOT TWO ADMITS TODAY!!! YAY! one was for the MBA (Finance) in Haskayne and the other was for the MSc (Finance) at Simon Fraser University, Beedie School of Business. I can't believe my luck! LOL! I cannot stop smiling! Haskayne gave me like 2 weeks to respond, I don't know what to do though! Mr Manoj here confused me about Haskayne

I am now getting inclined towards Alberta, but haven't even received their video link yet

First of all, congratulations on your two admits. Fantastic work. I can understand you must be elated and it is a well deserved excitement.

I can only give you pointers and suggestions that I have heard of or come across as part of my research, and request that you take them with a pinch of salt, analyze and make a well informed decision.
My opinion is, do an MBA when you have the option instead of doing an MSc. MBA is better than an MSc and it gives you more to learn and widens your opportunities. MBA is costly, but worth it. I am not sure how feasible it is to an MBA later in your life as you may start to drift away from education when you get older.
Second point is, as far as I've heard, Vancouver does not have much jobs for business studies. So, think again about getting into an MSc at SFU. If it is UBC, the yes, it might be worth it, but SFU, you've got to think of it.
Having said that, Alberta and Calgary apparently are not doing all that great economically, and so jobs might be a little tighter.
Alberta brand is a better choice in my opinion when compared to Haskayne. Drop an email right away to Charlene Patry and/or Christopher Lynch and request them for a status update. It should give you a fair idea.
Finally, your score is great and you'd have a chance at UBC, Schulich, Desautels, McGill, Ivey & Smith. So you should be confident to not rush into MSc at SFU is my thought. You could accept MBA at Calgary, pay the deposit and wait for better options. I guess their deposit should be maximum 2000 CAD. It shouldn't burn a hole in your pocket and will give you confidence to face the other interviews, and get a better offer.
Phew! that was a long piece of crap that I ended up typing. All the best mate.
