I agree the experience would be different for everyone. For me, previous experience (going to work) told me that "Dong Zai Fe" (iced coffee without sugar/syrup and milk) is a good choice for me.

But I am not sure if it is the same as espresso. I come from Hong Kong, and I just said "Dong Zai Fe" when being asked about the drink. It is some sort of Hong Kong style.

Last Saturday I wanna gave myself a mock GMAT experience. I woke up early and went to a public library to "attend" the exam using the official GMAT Prep

But I had drunk some red-bull before beginning the mock. Eventually, I just felt myself not working even with the Quantitative questions that I performed well last time.

So, personally I would recommend people who aren't get used to red-bull to have red-bull before the examinations. May be some of us can also share their experience here?

Here is an article posted on our facebook page on the same issue... For More such Articles please visit https://www.facebook.com/Gmatinsight

Student : An energy drink during the GMAT TEST marred my score.

Reply : So you too drank some energy drink after your Quant Section in GMAT and that ruined your Verbal score. Please do not make this energy drink a scapegoat. And if this happened in your third attempt, it’s high time you sat and thought pragmatically and took onus of the debacle. Please do not blame the energy drink. The components in the drink remain same on the test day too. If it had been helping you in the past it should have helped you on the test day too. However, I believe it’s more of a placebo effect for the mind that students opt for such tricks.

Let bygone be bygone.

Ask yourself these questions:

- Did you actually understand and practice the concepts aptly so that you could master them and apply them on your own without the help of your instructor or the book that you followed during your preparation? If yes, the energy drink was in the first place redundant and secondly beyond blame.

- Did you practice ample material? Some students just finish the latest OG and think that they are ready for the test. OG is a must but besides OG we need other pertinent materials. If yes, why did you need the energy drink?

- Did you practice at least 8 – 10 Full Length Practice Tests (Including AWA and IR)? If yes, you would have developed the needed physical as well as the mental stamina that this tests demands. Your stamina did not need to be bolstered by an energy drink on the Test day.
So do not blame the energy drink. Just sit calmly with yourself or with a professional and discuss where you could have erred. Answer the above asked questions honestly and learn from your mistakes. GMAT is a test that requires just a consistent study plan during the preparation and self confidence and composure during the test hours.

Enjoy your energy drink on some other day!!!

Prosper!!!
