I do not have too much faith in WL, it is just a kind reject.

Don't say that, last year they took about 50 from the wait list (this is ONLY R1 candidates!) at the R2 decision date, which is fairly significant. They then took about 30 or so more throughout the R3 decision date and summer. I might wait until the R2 deadline to see if I make it in. I am just not sure how tuition deposits work at other schools (If I make it in there). I would imagine you have to just eat it and can't get an extension.

I'm still hoping I can get in to Wharton today.

Couple of questions:

1) Are you guys taking the "no updates at all" thing seriously, or are you still planning on something?
I read this HBSGuru guy talk about "if you know a Hollywood actor or CEO, make them call", but I'm never sure whether he's being "funny" or serious.

2) Are you guys joint or concurrent degree applicants, by any chance? I am and I'm wondering whether it had something to do at all since now my other degree decision date will coincide with HBS's final decision.

I am taking it seriously, plus I do not know a hollywood actor or a CEO or an influential HBS alum :-D. And no, I am not a join degree applicant

Hi everybody,
When do you think we will start hearing from Harvard?
Any idea?
I cannot wait till 30 March, it is way too long.

a recent article on poetsandquants mentioned something like 120 people refused hbs's acceptance offer last year...that must have left space for the waitlisted...

Of course, unless they admitted enough people so that admitted-120=exactly enough people not to need any WLers.

The truth is, we don't know :(

to all those who have been waitlisted without interview, any news?

i met a guy yesterday who was waitlisted without interview in R1 who has an interview, and am just wondering if invites went out for some reason...i was surprised to hear, but also made be worry that now my chances are 0.00%

can we expect potential invites on the 31st and then if we don't get them then our odds are pretty much gone? or have other invites gone out?

Someone by the nickname of h2g22012 got invited to interview today after having been waitlisted without interview on R1.

I want to believe that that could perhaps be good news for us waitlisters with interview -the fact that maybe the R2 pool was not as competitive to the point that they're resorting to interviewing R1 waitlisters.

So just to keep this thread going... apparently some WL-without-interviewers got "released" today.

At this point I don't know if this is good or bad news, or simply irrelevant for the rest of us. This is really frustrating.
