HEC Paris hosted an event in London a few weeks ago and Michael Scott, their MBA Development Manager was present to answer questions about what HEC is doing to make their MBA programme even more valuable to students. He mentioned that they are revamping the programme to focus on employability. Of course, this is something that every prospective student wants to hear. The new MBA will launch in September 2012 and was designed with the help of consulting firm Bain & Company, with input from major firms that hire MBA grads. There will be two intakes for the full-time MBA; one in January and one in September. Typically around 20% of HEC MBA grads go into finance, a further 20%into consulting, and 60% go into “the real economy" but they are priming their careers support and development with a particular emphasis on helping students who want to change their industry.
