There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
For most test takers, Data Insights is the most challenging section on the GMAT, with test takers scoring several points lower on average on DI than on Quant or Verbal and completing the section with less time to spare.
In Episode 7 of our GMAT Ninja CR series, we are rounding up the oddballs, the misfits, and the format-benders: EXCEPT, Fill-In-The-Blanks, and other unusual Critical Reasoning question types. When you see a question that ends with a literal blank line

I am new to the Club. I was browsing through the old post and realised instantly that i made a great choice of joining this club. So many helping members! It's like those dream schools were the seniors are willing to help the juniors ALL THE TIME. I think we should put 'SCHOOL' in braket after GMAT CLUB (SCHOOL).
I have a question. I am not a native english speaker. My grammar sucks and so do my vocabulary. I really really want to put 'Checked' sign against the first check box - GMAT 700+ ? on the checklist of 'ROAD TO NYU STERN"?
I dont know how to do it.
Some dear members have suggested that read GMAT Fiction books. I like the idea. Is there anyway that we can prepare 'GMAT RECOMDMENDED MOVIE LIST'? I mean there are so many good english movies, like 'Scent of Woman', 'Remember the Titans' and the list is long. What do you say? You can download subtitles from the net and run lines with the movie. You can check online dictionary. Most of the time when i am reading a book and i come across a new word, i just mark the word and promise myself that i will check the meaning later, which i rarely do. However, if i am on computer, i can check the meaning using MS-Word, Online dictionary and it will be fun. It will also improve speaking habits, which will be helpful for TOEFL. And there is a probability that by this SO CALLED rehersal of the great movies, some of us might actually get inspired to pursue career in Acting. Good job man. We will have to compete with less people.
So what should i do about 'Checked' sign against the first check box - GMAT 700+ ?
I am a non-native english speaker. I have to give TOEFL/IELTS any how. What do you genius people recommend? Will it help if i first prepare for TOEFL/IELS? By the way, one basic question: Which test should i take TOEFL or IELtS? I haven't done enough research on that so i am not sure whether US / European Universities accept TOEFL / IELTS.
I also want to buy a english grammar book and not like Manhattan SC. A COMPREHENSIVE ENGLISH GRAMMAR BOOK. And please dont say Wren and Martin. That book might be the best book but without a doubt it is also one of the dullest book.
Though I liked the idea of GMAT Fiction, i am not sure about the NOVELS. Perhaps because they are too big to finish. Everytime i read a big Novel, I read DICTIONARY more than the NOVEL. I think magazines are fun and serve the same purpose. If any mastermind has made a list of Relevant Magazines, categorywise - Science Fiction, Medicine, Astrology, etc., kindly share with me.
I will keep on harassing you guys a lot. So better you increase your resistance power.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB, and I anint an expert, but let me try
1. GMATFICTION recommended is one of the best ways to improve your RC(the toughest, atleast for me in the GMAT). I am a great fan of classic movies, but I dont think that should help you on the GMAT.
Gmat gives you coarse subjects, otherwise I bet you wouldn't read one. Perhaps it might help you on tests where you have listening skills tested. Watching a movie you are always intrested in the screenplay and not in the language. Moreover, if movies do help, native speakers would have no reason to study for the verbal part.
IELTS and TOEFL, I dont know much about them.
Exhuming your grammar(if you did or do know any), get the KAPLAN GMAT verbal foundations.
Be with the club, actively participate on forums, the road to STERN will no longer be a dream.
