Hi Shravan,
I share that concern too about pre-owned vehicles - it may not be as typical and also may not seem as high profile as a well known global manufacturer, for example. That's part of why I think applying to a wider range of schools is smart for you.

As for some slightly safer options - schools like UT McCombs, Georgetown, Tepper, maybe USC Marshall or UNC Kenan-Flagler come to mind. Obviously they are all very different so you'll want to read up on each school and in particular on their career placement stats. A good place to read very brief profiles is Poets & Quants - https://poetsandquants.com/2013/02/22/a- ... s-schools/.

Hope this helps!

I agree with you.But I want to focus on my dream schools in R1 and if I don't get any of them , I want apply for some safety schools in R2.Do you think it's the right idea?

One additional thing that I want to mention is that most of my colleagues who are handling pre-owned in other states are all MBAs who have had significant experience in new vehicle sales ( sadly I couldn't jump to new vehicle sales because I didn't have an MBA :( ... ).

Just hoping that this will make up for some of the deficiencies in the profile

That should definitely help and make sure that's something your supervisor mentions in the recommendation letter...I think it says a lot about your ability to learn fast and do well in a position that typically requires more experience! :)

And yes, spreading out your schools over 2 rounds is a great idea!
