High-technology medicine is driving up the nation's health care costs. Recent advances in cataract surgery illustrate why this is occurring. Cataracts are a major cause of blindness, especially in elderly people. Ten years ago, cataract surgery was painful and not always effective. Thanks to the new technology used in cataract surgery, the operation now restores vision dramatically and is less expensive. These two factors have caused the number of cataract operations performed to increase greatly, which has, in turn, driven up the total amount spent on cataract surgery.
Each of the following, if true, would support a challenge to the author's explanation of the increase in the number of cataract operations EXCEPT:
(A) The overall population of the nation has increased from what it was ten years ago
(B) Any one individual's chance of developing cataracts is greater than it was ten years ago.
(C) The number of older people has increased during the last ten years.
(D) Today, health insurance covers cataract surgery for more people than it did ten years ago.
(E) People who have had unsuccessful cataract surgery are left with more seriously impaired vision than they had before the surgery.

A. If the overall population has increased, then there would be a corresponding increase in the number of operations. The conclusion that the increase in operation happened because of better technology will be challenged.Incorrect
B. The increase in operations happened because of more cases of cataract development and not because of people taking advantage of better technology. Incorrect
C. The demographics have changed and more people have progressed to an age in which cataract develops. So the increase in operations has not happened because of people wanting to take advantage of better technology.Incorrect
D. This means that the increase happened not because of better technology in cataract surgery but because people wanted to take advantage of favourable insurance. Incorrect
E. This is an irrelevant fact. If such people are elaborated to be taking additional cataract surgeries (multiple surgeries), then it *might* be relevant. Correct

In this argument we have a conclusion that Surgeries have become more successfull and more people start doing operations. And we should find 4 premises that will be contradict this conclusion and premise out of scope:
(A) The overall population of the nation has increased from what it was ten years ago
Ten years ago 10 people did this surgery and in this year 15 people do, but population increase in 10 times, so main reason it's population increase. So reason in increased quantity of people and not in success of new technology. Incorrect
(B) Any one individual's chance of developing cataracts is greater than it was ten years ago.
Persent of people who doing this surgery still the same, but more people have this disease and consequently more people doing this surgery. So reason in increased quantity of this disease and not in success of new technology. Incorrect
(C) The number of older people has increased during the last ten years.
The same as A the same percent of people who want to do this surgery, but more older people and quantity increase. So reason in increased quantity of old people and not in success of new technology. Incorrect
(D) Today, health insurance covers cataract surgery for more people than it did ten years ago.
Ten years ago was more people who want to make surgery but don't have money, today more people have money and do this surgery. So reason is that patients have money on this surgery but not in success of new technology. Incorrect
(E) People who have had unsuccessful cataract surgery are left with more seriously impaired vision than they had before the surgery.
Out of scope. We don't know nothing why quanitity of patients increased. So it is a Correct answer
