I am in a similar situation, gave a couple of mocks and got marks in the 650-720 range but got 600 on the real test. Looking at your score break up I would suggest get the TTP Quant course, go through the course and use the knowledge you gain there on OG questions, I think that should push your Quant from 42 to 45-47 at least.

On the verbal section try to identify which section you're weak and focus on that by working on your mistakes and then again training on Official OG questions.

Hi Tanya,

Thank you for providing details about your situation. I do see that you scored 640 on your most recent practice test; however, because you saw some repeated questions, we cannot be certain how accurate that score actually is. So, would you be able to take a fresh GMAC practice exam to get a baseline score? The results from that test are going to be quite helpful as they will tell us whether your low score on test day is a result of nerves/anxiety or from weak areas that must be addressed prior to your retake. So, if possible, please take that practice test and report back with your score breakdown. Then we can take things from there. In the meantime, here are a few helpful articles:

Thanks everyone for your responses!

To answer a few follow up questions:

1) During those earlier studies, how many hours did you typically study each week? - On average, ~2-4 hours during the weekdays and 4-6 hours on the weekends

2) What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? - I primarily used the Princeton Review mocks that were available to me through the course + 4 of the OG Official Mocks

3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)? - Unfortunately I don't have this data anymore since I don't have access to the Princeton dashboard, but for the OG mocks I took, the scores are below:
1. OG 1: 620 (V32, Q42) (May 5)
2. OG 2: 620 (V28, Q47) (May 15)
3. OG 3: 640 (V29, Q47) (May 29)
4. OG 4: 700 (V38, Q48) (June 4)
5. OC 1 (repeated): 640 (V36, Q42) (Sep 10)

Ideally, I'd like to score in the 650-700 range.

Since I took the exam online, I don't have access to an ESR report unfortunately.

I agree that my recent score may be inflated since I have seen some of those questions before, so I'll take a fresh one to see where I stand and report back.

I'm skeptical about taking any courses because after going through the whole Princeton review course and putting in the work, but not seeing good enough results was pretty disheartening. I've heard the TTP quant course is quite comprehensive, and while that may have been helpful when I first started, I'm worried it will take too much time and I am looking to get this over with as efficiently as possible and not fall behind on other parts of my life.

For verbal, other than reviewing and understanding basic grammar rules and CR/RC strategies, I am not sure what I can do besides continuing to practice. If anyone has a better approach that will help me see consistent improvement in my verbal score, that would be super helpful too! I typically tend to see a pretty even distribution for SC, RC and CR incorrect number of questions.

Thanks everyone!

In general, the number of questions I get wrong between SC, CR and RC were roughly the same, so it doesn't look like one area is far weaker than the other.

Consider working on Solving Approach for Verbal especially if your fundamentals are strong.
