Hi guys,
So funny story, when I graduated, I got a GPA of 2.67. Needless to say this makes it very hard for me to get an interview let alone a job immediately post graduation.
Fast forward to today, I found in my school's website that they now have what they call a CGPA (Cumulative GPA).
Basically this means instead of showing 2.67 GPA, I can show a 3.31 CGPA. My question is, since this GPA is within the lower part of the 80th percentile of most B-school's GPA, should I still write an optional essay explaining my still relatively low GPA? (There was actually an extenuating condition that affected my study at that time)
For those interested in knowing GPA vs CGPA at my university:
Students have 4 possible grades:
High Distinction (HD) = 80-100
Distinction (D) = 70-79
Credit (C) = 60-69
Pass (P) = 50-59
With GPA:
HD = 4.0
D = 3.0
C = 2.0
P = 1.0
With CGPA
HD = 4.0
D = 3.67
C = 2.85
P = 2.15
E.g. Harry scored all D during his study. His GPA would be 3.0 while his CGPA would be 3.67 (a huuggeee difference)
Can your school give you a certificate or any document with CGPA ?
