I wanted to understand how to identify if a word is an adjective or adverb ?
Ex: The company needs to move quick.
Here quick is an adjective as stated in foundation of verbal guide. And we need to use quickly ( and adverb)
So how to identify if a word is adjective or adverb in such cases.
Why is quick an adjective and not an adverb ? Since it is being used after a verb here. Apart from -ly ending, any logical way to identify adverbs?
Regards, Vs

v1987 I have a tip for you . Always think of an example to figure this out A quick cat is a young cat. So whats quick doing here oh well its modifying the cat oh so if its modifying a noun then it must be an adjective so there you go. A cat ran quickly what is quickly doing here oh its telling me how the cat ran its modifying action a.k.a verb well its an adverb Some more stuff for you Okay so lets say the quick is adjective is here and if its a adjective it must modify the closest noun well lets seee um.. there is no noun nearby well okay the only noun is company so I guess your sentence as it is says The company which happens to be a quick company needs to move (Does this makes any sense at all? I doubt. so we definitely need an adverb here Kudos if that was helpful
Its simple: If something is modifying verb its adverb. If something is modifying noun its adjective.
I would suggest to go through Aristotle GMAT SC grail and Manhattan SC guide, both are good. As you progress, you will learn about modifiers.
