There may be 2 things that may be happening:
  • Exam anxiety may be forcing you to get away from the regular strategy practiced during mocks
  • There may be few conceptual gaps that you may not have worked upon enough so as to master them

If the case is of exam anxiety, which is very much there for me always, it's really hard to get over(at least for me) and you may have to just work on staying calm during exam and playing it as a game.

If it is the case of the conceptual gap, focusing on a few specific strategies may help. Here is a good post that must be helpful.

SC
In my honest opinion, the 3 step process of SC from e-GMAT really helps. Though the strategy is not indigenous to them (as it is just a modulated version of Manhattan strategy which has always been there), their execution approach and the emphasis they give on it is perfect. Spending enough time on question stem really helps decode the structure and find the meaning errors to be able to mark an answer with 100% confidence. Maybe you can relook at your strategy and optimize it further.

CR
Powerscore Bible had been my savior here and gives a much clearer picture of what's going on. If you have time and energy, I will strongly recommend going through it once.

RC
No comments here. All I have to say here is that being curious about the passage is all that I have found to have helped in getting better here. Improving CR, eventually improves RC too, if comprehension is not a problem. RC is just a longer version of CR I feel.

And the most important suggestion is for quant: You must start giving me tuitions, please ;)

LASTTIME1 - I am sorry to hear about your experience. A V36 (in mocks) is very different from V20. A V36 indicates that you have a deep understanding of concepts while a V20 is representative of a student who practically does not know anything.

I understand you had high mock scores however, what were your ability scores in Scholaranium?
Did you reach out to e-GMAT team, asking them to analyze your account (preparation) and help create an improvement plan?

Do OG and OG Verbal Review thoroughly.

Use Manhattan SC and CR guide. I think they are good.

I seriously need help to improve my verbal section in GMAT exam
I do take Gmat exam already 4 times.

My last exam score was Q50V26 - 630.
When I was in exam, I found myself very confident in most of my answers.
However, when i saw my mark, I am totally devastated by the result of the exam.

I already spend entire 3 months to focus on GMAT and instead I got only this so far.
And I already took a course from E-gmat and Expert Global. Have no idea what to study anymore.
I can afford to spend one more month to prepare the exam.

I already exhaust all of Expert global test mock up and GMAT prep mock up.
My last 15 scores for Expert is around 700-740. Verbal no less than 36.

I will purchase ESR to review my mistakes but I also need third opinion how to tackle this issue.

I will strongly advise that for improving your verbal abilities, focus on official test sources. Third party materials are nowhere of the same quality as these sources.

The official guide provides good study materials and decent explanations. Yes, the explanations may appear to be dry, but they are written by researchers with expertise.

Other than that, purchase textbooks to improve your grammar, comprehension and reasoning skills.

Watching videos and the like may be fun sometimes, but there is no substitute for time with books.

Lastly, if you feel too confident while answering questions on the test, that may unfortunately be a sign that you are getting easy questions. The harder questions will pose some doubts. I would suggest that you focus only on the questions and your answers and not to worry too much about how you are feeling. There will be time for that after the test is over! GL.
