To be honest, it is very subjective whether I received a fair chance or not at GMAT test but it wasn't pleasant for sure.
I had booked an appointment for the GMAT test on 29th April, 2021. I reached there in time and completed the test scoring only 370 which was probably scaled right but I still think it was unfair.
I'm from the Indian state of Rajasthan and I had booked an appointment at a Pearson VUE center in Ahmedabad because it is nearer than the test center in Rajasthan and also reviewed favourably. I was scoring between 580-620 on practice tests and was seeing improvement as I was progressing but then the pandemic wave hit India. Cases started soaring in every part of India and my own state went into lockdown. The neighbouring state of Gujarat where I had booked my GMAT appointment started asking for RT-PCR test. Seeing the situation becoming worse I contacted the GMAT customer care but there was no response for days and before 6-7 days of my test, they replied to my mail. I requested them to convert my test into online so I can avoid the risk of getting infected and also not suffer from the lack of transport service during the lockdown. I also had to go through the covid test to get inside the border. All this was very time demanding and very uncomfortable which made me tensed day by day.
With initial hope that they were ready to convert came the disastrous slow response. They asked for my GMAT info and other information but after providing it there response was again slow. I had asked them to do it urgently as there wasn't much time left. Unfortunately they didn't reply which was very heart breaking not just because I had a genuine reason but also because they left me in the middle. If they had clearly stated there won't be any changes I would have done all the bookings and tests in advance. In the last minute with no more hope left I had to book hotels and get the PCR test done, it was total exhaustion for 2 days.
Then after somehow reaching the travel bus's office (after making several travelling stops) I took the main bus and reached Ahmedabad after midnight at 2:30 am. The hotel procedures took half an hour and I went to sleep at around 3:30. Got woken up at 7 by someone who wanted to wish me luck but I wish he didn't because I got no sleep after that.
I tried my best to get awaken. Tried to convince myself that I have had enough sleep and everything is going to be alright. Got to the test center half an hour early with a headache and gave the exam. For some reason the exam felt to be going good but then I encountered easy questions and I knew I was doomed. The Verbal went bad too and ultimately I scored 370 (32Q-11V). I had scored 450 without preparations in Manhattan test for my baseline.
The experience was a complete disaster and the result might have been different if I took some right decisions of getting to Ahmedabad a day earlier (which was the original plan) but all decisions were affected by the hope GMAT customer care had provided. I can't surely say how much of this fault is mine and how much is theirs but I didn't deserve to go through all this. They could have converted it into online and save me from the risk and hassle I had to go through.
I did tell them about it but all they can do is be sorry for inconvenience and assure me that this won't happen again in future. Little do they know there is no future.

Sorry to hear about the experience. Things are not smooth these days and it’s hard to pinpoint the boy him. However, when it’s all compounded, all these little things that usually would not be a big issue, they do become a big issue together. Someone waking you up in the morning, a bus that is late, a check in the takes forever, rescheduling that is not smooth, etc.
I don’t think you can blame her fault GMAC per say. Everyone’s doing what they can. I think you definitely can do better and my suggestion is to take the lessons learned and knock it out of the park.
