There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
As you may probably notice from my lousy English writing skills - I'm a non-native speaker.
On my first GMAT attempt I got 660 (q 47 v 34), having most of my mocks a verbal ranging from 30 to 36. My second attempt is going to be at Oct 19th, 8 AM, as I am aiming 710+.
I'm studying all by myself. Full-time job, and two kids at home.
I know that I can do a lot better on the verbal section, so this where I put the most effort during the past week.
A week ago I took a full gmat prep CAT, receiving 680 ( q50, v31). Jesus! Moses! No improvement at all! My verbal score only decreased
I have continued to work on my verbal, depending on materials found in this site - GIN RC strategy guide (practicing it, of course), somebody's most downloaded CR guide... I took the whole 250 Manhattan SC set (doing 50 sentences a time, analysing errors and move on). I started to feel much more confident about my English.
So now I wanted to check out my progress, using gmatclub free verbal set.
I scored a devastating 30!! What the hell!
Look at the results, attached. 11 mistakes (7 sc, 3 cr, 1 rc) , with arround 72% accuracy in all diffculty levels. It's not THAT bad, doesn't it?
I finished the set with a perfect 13 qestions strike!
BTW, out of 7 bookmarked questions - I got wrong in 6.
What has happened to me? How can I do better, especially on the openning 10 questiones? I didn't feel nervous or something like that...
It's obvious that my Achiles Heel is SC, having a poor 50% accuracy level. But on practice I've completed HUNDREDS of SC questions, improving constantly from 50% wrong to 20% wrong.
What the hell happaned on this set?
Please cheer me up friends, and point out what can I do (except of jumping out of the window).
Farewell.
GmatClub - don't take it personal, I still thinks that you are amazing.

Dear goidelg, I'm sorry to hear about your struggles, and I am happy to respond.
I realize that you have relatively little time between now and your GMAT. I am going to make a radical suggestion. Enroll in Magoosh! We have a full library of SC video lessons that I think will open up new horizons of understanding for you. Here is an example: https://gmat.magoosh.com/lessons/621-in ... arallelism Magoosh has a score guarantee, a guarantee of a 50+ point gain, so if you didn't get the 710 on October 19th, then Magoosh would be free. Read the score guarantee page for all conditions. Also, each one of Magoosh's questions come with its own video explanation, and this immediate feedback, right after each question, accelerates the learning process considerably. Here's a free practice question: https://gmat.magoosh.com/questions/3582 When you submit your answer, the following page will have the question's VE.
My friend, I know you have done a lot of work already and I think you need some insights that will take you to next level of understanding. I think what Magoosh has to offer is precisely what will catalyze your growth. It would present you with a lot of work to do over the next nine days, but the potential for growth is extraordinary.

I'm not sure how representative other tests can be, but the GMATPrep is easily the most reliable test out there. If you took the full test and if those questions were "new" to you, you've improved a lot. Yes, you're worried about your verbal. That's gone from 34 to 31. That means you went from 71% to 61%. It's possible. I'm impressed by your quant though: you've gone from 47 to 50 (that means your percentile just jumped from 67 to 87)!
Since you have 50% accuracy in SC -- you will most definitely want to master all the questions here. If you can speed up SC, then you can free up more time for the CR and RC sections that require more reading.
