Greetings,
Since the AWA isn't really considered an important element in the GMAT score, or I believe so, I'm thinking of skipping it on my next GMAT test and head directly to the next section to spare myself the stress and over all GMAT time.
What do you think? Is there a risk? Thanks.

Of course there is a risk - all business schools will question your skipping the AWA section and some of them will even do it without asking you directly. The results will be full of risk for you. Even if you absolutely ace the Q and V, there will still be a question mark over what happenned in AWA.
The AWA section is anyway the least stressful section of the entire test. All you need to do is look at a couple of phrases and express your viewpoints.
Think of AWA as more of a hygiene factor - but it still needs to be cleared nevertheless. You should by no means skip the AWA section of the test, for it will endanger your entire effort.
