Hello,
I’m always happy to share my opinion but let me preface this with I only applied to international MBA programs and I just accepted my admissions to IESE so I am a bit bias. So I think you need to look at what you are intending to get from the mba because these two schools offer very different things.
If you hope to grow your US network and intend to stay in the US, go to NYU. NYU will have better name recognition in the US regardless of rankings. If you are looking to ever work abroad or wanting to grow a global network, IESE will be better for that.
Then look at experiences. New York is great and if it’s where you may want to settle after or a dream of yours to live there that’s the way to go. IESE is a much more cultural shock if your coming from the US and gives you the opportunity to travel to many other countries.
Programs can also be very different. I don’t know anything about Sterns but I loved IESE case base method and wanted a very academically rigorous program.
I also say talk to student and alumni from both schools, that was my main determining factor. See which people are the ones you want influencing you, inspiring you, and could even be your future business partners.
Just my thoughts! Either way there no wrong decision you have two amazing schools that want you and that will help you grow your business acumen and networks.
Posted from my mobile deviceHi! Thank you for your words!! and congratulation for your admission to IESE. Looking to your profile here, you are from USA, just curious, what make you look to european universities having really strong US MBAs.
