CONCEPT: \(\frac{(Machine_Power * Time)}{Work} = Constant\)

i.e. \(\frac{(M_1 * T_1)}{W_1} = \frac{(M_2 * T_2)}{W_2}\)


i.e. \(\frac{(20 * 7)}{500} = \frac{(14 * T_2)}{200}\)

i.e. \(T_2 = 4\)

Answer: Option A

(days*time*manpower)/work = constant

(7 days*20 pigs)/500 pounds = (x days*14 pigs)/200 pounds
cancel the like terms
x=4 days

(Manpower * Time)/Work = Constant

=> (20*7)/500 = (14*d)/200
=> d = 4 days

Answer: A

mush==pigs==days
500===20===7
500/7===20==1
500/7/20 (25/7)==1==1
25/7*14==14==1
50==14===1
so
200==14===4

but after sseing Gmatinsight solution i guess i went the long and winding road

500 pound of mush is enough for 20 pigs for a week.
500M = 20P (for a week)
25M = 1P (for a week)
14Pigs will take 25*14 = 350 Mush for a week.

350M = 7Days.
50M = 1day
Since we only have 200Mush
200 mush will be enough for 14 pigs for 200/50 = 4 days.

Answer is A

500 pounds mush will feed to 20 pigs for 7 days
=1 ================20=====7/500 days
=1=================1=====7x20/500 days
200================1======7x20x200/500 days
200================14======7x20x200/(500x14)

Simplifies to 4 days,

IMO ans is A

use
m1*t1/w1 = m2*t2/w2
20*1/500 = x/7 *14/200
x = 4
option A
