If A£B = (A + B)/B, and C& = C+3, what is the value (9)£3 ?  [#permalink]

Correct answer: A

(9$)£3

First using A£B=A+B / B
= (9$) + 3 / 3

Now using C$=C+3
= (9 + 3) + 3 / 3
= 15 / 3
= 5

Agree with the solution and solved it via a similar approach.

Essentially we just have to break the equation down in its separate parts and make sure to stick to the order of operation.

9$ = 9+3 = 12

12 £ 3= 15/3 = 5 IMOA
