4 hours and 15 minutes is \(4\frac{1}{4}=\frac{17}{4}\) hours.
We need, therefore, to find the value of \(\frac{220}{(\frac{17}{4})}=\frac{2204}{17}\). Essentially, the question boils down to how to approximate \(\frac{2204}{17}\) quickly and effectively.
Let's check multiples of 17. We have 170 = 10*17 and 51 = 3*17, which sum up to 221. Thus, \(\frac{220*4}{17}\approx \frac{221*4}{17}=13*4=52\).
Answer: D.
