If for integers a, b, c, and d, \(a + b + c + d = 4\), does \(d = 1\)?


(1) \(abc = 1\). This means a, b and c are either 1 or -1.
say abc=1*1*1=1, then d=1
say abc=(-1)*(-1)*1=1, then (-1)+(-1)+1+d=4....d=5

(2) \(ad = 1\)...
ad=1=(-1)(-1)....d=-1
ad=1*1=1...d=1

Combined
d can be only 1

a,b =-1 and c=1
d=3
a,b,c=1 , d = 1
insufficeint

both either +1 or -1
insufficeint
from 1 &2
+1 , yes d=1
IMO C
