Since Jason was 34 years old, 8 years ago, his current age is 42
Similarly, sine Lester was 27 years old, 5 years ago, his current age is 32.

Hence, the average of their ages is $$\frac{42+32}{2}$$ or 37.

Hence, their average(x years ago) was 37-x(Option B)

Today Hason = 42 and Lester = 32
Avg Age = 37

X year ago
Avg Age = 37-x
