Question : does line M pass through Quadrant IV?
CONCEPT: A line with positive slope is bound to pass through Quadrants I and III and a Line with negative slope is bound to pass through Quadrants II and IV
Statement 1: Line M has a slope greater than 1/2
Positive slope ensures that line passes through Quadrants I and III but the same line may or may not pass through quadrant IV hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: Line M has a slope greater than -1
Slope greater than -1 may be positive as well as negative therefore, line may or may not pass through quadrant IV hence
NOT SUFFICIENT
Combining the two statements
line may or may not pass through quadrant IV hence
NOT SUFFICIENT

Statements 1 and 2 COMBINED
There are several lines that satisfy BOTH statements. Here are two:
Case a: Line M has slope 2 and looks like this:
In this case, the answer to the target question is YES, line M DOES pass through Quadrant IV
Case b: Line M has slope 2 and looks like this:
In this case, the answer to the target question is NO, line M does NOT pass through Quadrant IV
Since we cannot answer the target question with certainty, the combined statements are NOT SUFFICIENT
