PREMISE 1: If one has recently been overwhelmed by overstimulation, peaceful rest feels pleasant by contrast.
PREMISE 2: Similarly, recent experience of boredom makes most forms of excitement pleasurable, even dangerous ones.
CONCLUSION: No level of stimulation is intrinsically pleasant or unpleasant.
The statements above, if true, most strongly support which one of the following?
(A) Danger generally appears more pleasurable than boredom.
The postage does say recent experience of boredom makes dangerous experiences more popular, but it says nothing about which experience is more popular
(B) How pleasant a person finds a situation can depend on previous levels of stimulation. (CORRECT)
This answer choice is basically a rephrase of the conclusion supported by the premises.
(C) Boredom can be just as overwhelming as overstimulation.
This is no comparison made between boredom and overstimulation in the passage. Both of them are used as examples to support the conclusion.
(D) A high level of stimulation is never pleasant, but it often precedes pleasant relaxation.
This is an extreme answer choice. The passage does use the example of overstimulation, but it never says that overstimulation is unpleasant of preceded by pleasent relaxation.
