AND is used to connect parallel items, so AND is correct.
As well as is used to connect another item to a list already connected by AND..
For example.. he was a sincere, devoted and dedicated person as well as a thorough gentleman.

PARALLEL items.. here the verbs are parallel and are in simple past - grow, become, so third will be threaten...

B corrects all the errors

Must be (B)

Must be (B)

Even though I agree B is the correct answer, I think if we take "can" common for parallelism, then can+may does not make sense. So the third part fails to be parallel with "can" common. So "can" cannot be be taken common.

MANHATTAN REVIEW OFFICIAL EXPLANATION:



This question has to do with parallel structure. The correct structure is ‘grow’, ‘become’ and ‘threaten’. Only B has this combination.
