E. (a + b + c + dp + f)/p

Sum of her scores in p puzzles = d*p

First quiz score = a points
Second quiz score = b points
third quiz score = c points
LAST quiz score = f points

Total Score of all quizzes = (a+b+c+d*p+f)
Total Puzzles = 1+1+1+p+1 = p+4

Average of all quizzes = Sum/number of quizzes = (a+b+c+d*p+f)/(4+p)

Since we're asked to calculate a simple average and are given all the information we need, we'll just calculate it! (This is a Precise approach).

Simone has taken a total of 3 + p + 1 quizzes (first 3 + p + last)
We'll sum her scores over all the quizzes: a + b + c + pd + f.
Then her average score is (a + b + c + pd + f) / (4 + p)
