First set up the 5 number average:
36 = x/5
Solve for x
x = 180

Now set up the 4 number average:
34 = x - y / 4
Solve for y
34 = 180 - y / 4
y = 44

sum of 5 no ; 36*5= 180
sum of 4 no : 34 *4 = 136
5th no = 180-136

= 44 IMO E
