2(L+B)=40 given 1
L*B=84 given 2

From 1
L+B=40/2
L+B=20
14 & 4 fit, both the equations, therefore 14 is the answer
Option (c)

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(L+W)

Given 2(L+W) = 40

Then L+W = 20.

Also Given, LW = 84

Only possible pair which satisfies the above criteria is (14,4)

There exists a shortcut formula -

$$P=2l+\frac{2A}{l}$$ { Where P = Perimeter , A = Area & l = Length }

So, $$40 = 2l + \frac{84}{l}$$

Now, check using options, Answer must be (C) 14
