2^5 = 32
2^6 =64
Distance between two points = 2^6 - 2^5 = 32

x is four points away from 2^5
x = 3 * (-2)^5

Why is 2^6 - 2^5 is equal to 2^5? I know that 64-32=32 which is 2^5.
But is there any rule about adding or subtracting powers without actually multiplying?

\(2^6 - 2^5\)

\(= 2^5(2 - 1)\)

\(= 2^5\)

\(= 32\), Hope this helps!!!

Asked: If the tick marks on the number line below are evenly spaced, what value is represented by x?

x = 2^5 - 4*(2^6 - 2^5) = 2^5 ( 1 - 4) = (-3)2^5

The difference between 2^6 and 2^5 is 32 (2^5),
Now since all the points are evenly spaced we can calculate x as -3(2^5)

say distance between 2^5 and 2^6 is a
2^6 - 2^5 = a
a= 32 or 2^5

now since all are evenly spaced so distance would be 2^5 for all.
there are 4 space between X and 2^5
2^5 - X = 2^5 * 4
2^5 - (2^5) * 4 = X
X =(-3)* 2^5
