If x = √64, and y = x + 8, then y may be which of the following?

I. 0
II. 8
III. 16

A. I only
B. II only
C. III only
D. I and III only
E. I, II, and III

Looks tricky this..
But the square root of 64 is 8 never -8.
So x = 8
Thus y = 8+8
y = 16

C seems the correct answer.

In GMAT square root of a number is always positive so the only possible value for x is 8 (not -8 as well).
y=8+8=16
Hence option C.
