If x and y are integers and y = | x + 3 | + | 4 тАУ x |, does y equal 7?

1. x < 4
2. x > -3

Without using trial and error, is there any simplified way to answer this data sufficiency problem?

Draw the graphs.( x and y axis).u will get 2 V shaped graphs for the equations, |x+3|(points, -3,0 and 3,0) and |4-x| (points 4,0 and 0,4)...the sum of it will be a constant 7 for the range -3<x<4.
