Statement 1: x = 3.927y

the question does not give info about y, so y could be 1 or 2, etc, giving different values of x

NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2: y = 2.279

y is giving but nothing on x

NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining two statements

x = 3.927 * y, where y = 2.279

x = 3.927*2.279, which gives an unique value

SUFFICIENT

ANSWER C

I agree on that point.
My doubt is if x=3.927y. So no matter what is the value of y the max rounded value of x=3.93.
The doubt I have is, is y a digit in x or is it being multiplied?

The question clearly defines if the variable represents a digit. Unless it's defined as digit, it is considered a multiplication of values.
