x = 150 percent greater than 200

150 percent "greater than" = 2.5 as multiplier.

From Bunuel , somewhere here, I think, to remember the multiplier:

10 percent "greater than x" would be 1 + .10 = 1.10x. So turn 150 into a decimal multiplier, i.e., 1.5, and add 1 to get 2.5x

x = 2.5 * 200
x = 500

x is what percent greater than 50% of 500?

50 percent of 500 = .5 * 500 = 250

500 is what percent greater than 250?

$$\frac{(New - Old)}{Old}$$ * 100

500 - 250 = 250/250 = 1 * 100
= 100 percent greater
