By the given conditions x=2.5 * 200 =500
Let y= 50% of 500 = 50/100*500 = 250
Hence ,x is more than y as a percentage by 500-250/250 *100 =100% (D)

Concept: Multiplicative factors
If a number x is increased by 30%,the new number is (100+30) /100 times the old number x=1.3x
If a number x is increased by 5%,the new number is (100+5) /100 times the old number x=1.05x
If a number x is increased by 150%,the new number is (100+150) /100 times the old number x=2.5x
The same technique is used for a decrease by changing the + to a - with the 100.
Hope thus helps. Keep studying ! :)

If x is 150% greater than 200, x is what percent greater than 50% of 500?

(A) 0
(B) 20
(C) 50
(D) 100
(E) 200

Are You Up For the Challenge: 700 Level Questions
\(x = \frac{250}{100}*200 = 500\)

\(50\)% of \(500 = 250\)

Thus, x is 100% greater than 50% of 500, Answer must be (D)

Asked: If x is 150% greater than 200, x is what percent greater than 50% of 500?

x = 150%*200 + 200 = 500
50% 0f 500 = 250
x/250 = 200% : 100% greater than 50% of 500
