We can make simplifying of question and get it in view: (x^2 + y^2) / xy and as we know the meaning of this parts:
x^2 + y^2 = 12
xy = 5
we can calculate the answer 12/5 -> 2 2/5 so answer is A

and we have another way of decision by division these two equations:
(x^2 + y^2) / xy = 12 / 5

x/y + y/x = 12 / 5 -> 2 2/5 so answer is A

xy=5; x^2+y^2=12; (x/y)+(y/x)=?
Simplifying we get (x^2+y^2)/xy =12/5=2*2/5

Hence Answer is A
