Soccer = 2* Basketball

Both = 2*Only Basketball

Both = 5000

i.e. Only Basketball = 5000/2 = 2500

Only Basketball + Both = Total basketball players

Basketball = 2500+5000 = 7500

i.e. Soccer = 2*7500 = 15000

Only Soccer = Soccer - Both = 15000 - 5000 = 10,000

Answer: Option C

P.S. Try solving this question using grid... Grid is the best way forward for this question. :)
