The correct answer IMO is C
A) no referent for they.
B) The sentence structure makes non metallurgy industries part of extraction metallurgy industry. Changes the meaning of the sentence.
C) correctly compares the two industries and their usage of profits.(correct and)

In only C, the correct comparison between 2 industries, metallurgy and non metallurgy is made.
A is out, incorrect placement of they.
B is out, profit of one company is used to explain the reason for profit for the other company.
D is out, incorrect comparison of a company with the task performed by the other one.
E is out, Profit is compared with a type a industry.
